Franck, le lgiste, remarque que Judith a la bosse de lcrivain sur le majeur droit et alerte les enquteurs. Ils dcouvrent que la jeune femme apprenait lire et crire. Du ct des gendarmes, Paul Marchal renonce devenir commandant. Il aime aller sur le terrain et fureter sur les scnes de crime.
